Terms of Use
Effective September 27, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Serious Business Software LLC (“we”, “us”) covering the MusicWipe apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, the MusicWipe web app at app.musicwipe.com, the MusicWipe service that separates audio for them, and your MusicWipe account on musicwipe.com. By using MusicWipe you agree to these Terms.
Which license applies
Copies from the App Store or the Mac App Store. These are licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict.
The Mac app downloaded from musicwipe.com. This copy is licensed to you under these Terms, not the Standard EULA. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on Macs you own or control. You may not sell, rent, redistribute or modify it, or remove its notices. It checks for updates and installs them when you agree. The license ends if you break these Terms or when you delete the app.
The Android app from Google Play. This app is licensed to you under these Terms, not the Standard EULA. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on Android devices you own or control. You may not sell, rent, redistribute or modify it, or remove its notices. Google Play’s terms also apply to how you get the app from Google Play and to purchases made in it.
The web app at app.musicwipe.com. The web app runs in your browser and is provided under these Terms, not the Standard EULA. You may use it for your own videos, on any device you own or control. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or modify it, or use it to build a competing service. Your video is processed in your browser; only its audio track is uploaded, as the Privacy Policy describes. Whether a large video can be processed depends on your browser and device.
Your account
The first time you open a MusicWipe app or the web app, it creates an account for you that has no name or email attached. Signing in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google is optional for previews, and it lets your plan and minutes follow you across devices. To buy on musicwipe.com, in the web app, or in the Mac app downloaded from musicwipe.com, you must sign in with Apple or Google, so the purchase belongs to an account you can always get back into. In the Android app and the web app, you also sign in to receive the one-time free minutes.
Keep access to that Apple or Google account secure. You are responsible for activity on your MusicWipe account. You can delete your account at any time in the app’s Settings, in the web app’s Account, or on musicwipe.com after signing in. How we handle your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Plans, minutes and top-ups
- MusicWipe offers a free tier and paid subscriptions (Creator and Pro), each with a monthly allowance of minutes of audio processed, plus optional top-up minutes.
- Monthly allowances reset every month, including on yearly plans. Unused plan minutes do not carry over.
- Top-up minutes are used after your plan’s minutes, and they do not expire.
- The free tier’s one-time free minutes are given once per device in the apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and once per account, after signing in, in the Android app and the web app.
- Processing a full video uses its length in minutes, counted to the second. Previews and ambience changes do not use minutes.
- If you have plans from more than one place at the same time, you get the higher plan. Minutes from two subscriptions are not added together.
Purchases through Apple
If you subscribe or buy a top-up inside an App Store copy of MusicWipe, the purchase is made through Apple and billed to your Apple Account. Apple’s terms apply to that purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple Account’s subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds for these purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies. Price changes follow Apple’s rules, including any notice Apple requires.
Purchases through Google Play
If you subscribe or buy a top-up in the MusicWipe app for Android, the purchase is made through Google Play and billed to the payment method in your Google Play account. Google processes the payment, and Google Play’s terms apply to that purchase. Subscriptions are monthly or yearly and renew automatically until you cancel them in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, which Manage subscription in the app’s Settings also opens; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your plan until then. Refunds for these purchases follow Google Play’s refund policies; you can request one through Google Play, or email us. Price changes follow Google Play’s rules, including any notice Google Play requires. When a purchase is refunded or reversed, the plan or minutes it paid for are removed from your account.
Purchases on musicwipe.com, in the web app and in the Mac app downloaded from musicwipe.com
Who sells it. These purchases are sold through Link, a payment service of Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. Link processes your payment, calculates and collects any sales tax, VAT or GST, and sends your receipt, and its terms apply to the payment. The charge on your card statement starts with LINK.COM. We provide the MusicWipe plan or minutes you buy.
What you’re buying. A subscription gives your MusicWipe account the Creator or Pro plan, which you can use in the MusicWipe Mac app, the Android app and the web app and see on your account page. A top-up adds minutes to your account. MusicWipe for iPhone and iPad has not been released yet and is not part of what you buy. If and when it is released, you can use your plan there by signing in with the same account.
Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in US dollars before you buy. In the US, prices do not include sales tax. Any tax is added at checkout and shown in the total before you pay. Checkout may show an amount in your local currency.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions are monthly or yearly and renew automatically at the end of each period, charging the payment method you used at the price then in effect, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize these recurring charges.
Cancelling. Cancel anytime from Manage billing on your account page at musicwipe.com or in the web app’s Account, or from Manage subscription in the Mac app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep your plan until then. We do not refund the unused part of a period, except as described in the Refund Policy.
Changing plans. An upgrade from Creator to Pro takes effect immediately: a new billing period starts that day, and the unused part of what you paid for Creator is credited against the Pro price. A move to a smaller plan, or between monthly and yearly billing, takes effect at your next renewal.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, you keep your plan for a short grace period while the payment is retried. If it still fails, the subscription ends.
Price changes. If we change the price of your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal at the new price. If you don’t want to pay it, cancel before that renewal.
Refunds. Refunds follow our Refund Policy. As merchant of record, Link may also issue refunds under its own policies. When a purchase is refunded, the plan or minutes it paid for are removed from your account.
Right of withdrawal in the EU and UK. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. When you buy, you ask us to make your plan or minutes available immediately. If you then withdraw within 14 days, we refund you, less an amount in proportion to what we provided before you withdrew (the minutes you used). Once all the minutes of a purchase have been used, the right of withdrawal ends. To withdraw, email us at [email protected]. This right is in addition to our Refund Policy.
Disputes. If something is wrong with a charge, please email us first; we can usually fix it faster than a bank can. If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may suspend the plan or minutes that charge paid for while the dispute is open.
Deleting your account. Deleting your MusicWipe account cancels any subscription bought on musicwipe.com, in the web app or in the Mac app downloaded from musicwipe.com immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period. It does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or by Google Play; cancel that in your Apple Account’s subscription settings, or in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions.
Your content and your rights to it
You may only process video and audio that you own or have the rights to use. By uploading audio, you confirm that you have those rights and that processing it does not infringe anyone else’s copyright or other rights.
MusicWipe is a tool for cleaning up your own footage, for example to replace background music with a track you are licensed to use. You keep all rights to your content. You give us permission to process the audio you upload only to provide the separation you asked for, as described in the Privacy Policy.
No guarantee of results or of avoiding copyright claims
Audio separation is very good, but not perfect. Results depend on the source material, and some audio may keep traces of music or lose some of the sound you wanted to keep. Please check the free preview before processing a full video.
We do not guarantee that a video processed with MusicWipe will avoid copyright claims, content identification matches, takedowns or any other action by a platform or rights holder. Whether you may publish a video is your responsibility.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- process content you do not have the rights to use, or use MusicWipe to infringe anyone’s intellectual property;
- process unlawful content, or use MusicWipe for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorized access to the MusicWipe service or its infrastructure, except as the law expressly allows;
- misuse the free tier, for example by creating accounts to get around its limits, or resell access to the service;
- make repeated purchases and then dispute or reverse the charges.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
The service
We work to keep MusicWipe available and reliable, but the cloud processing service may occasionally be unavailable, and features may change over time. We may stop offering the service with reasonable notice where practical.
Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MusicWipe is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Serious Business Software LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits or content, arising from your use of MusicWipe. Our total liability for any claim relating to MusicWipe is limited to the amount you paid for MusicWipe in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use MusicWipe after an update means you accept the new Terms.
